Birthing Kits

Since 2011, ZCBB has assembled over 24,950 birthing kits in local secondary schools. These have been transported to developing countries in Africa and Asia for distribution to women who have no access to appropriate medical facilities.  A birthing kit can significantly reduce infection and prevent complications after birth for both mother and child. Our school program aims to educate students about the need for humanitarian assistance in underprivileged regions and the satisfaction which comes from volunteering and community service. Supplies for the birthing kits are purchased from the Birthing Kit Foundation of Australia.  Zontians, students and friends assemble the kits over the course of a morning while chatting with students and enjoying the opportunity to exchange stories and ideas.
