New Dates
Sunday, 30th January, 2022 - CANCELLED DUE TO OMNICRON VIRUS
Sunday, 17th July, 2022
Fairs were held in June, 2018 and 2019 at the Marana Auditorium, Hurstville. The second-year saw the 60 dealer tables and over 700 visitors of 2018 grow to 65 dealer tables and over 1100 visitors in 2019. The ZCBB Fair Co-ordinator’s knowledge of the antique and collectable business, thorough planning and a united membership effort resulted in a highly successful outcome for the 2018 and 2019 Fairs. COVID-19 forced cancellations of 2020 and 2021 fairs, but we look forward to our new dates in 2022.
Venue grants from Georges River Council were greatly appreciated and the proceeds from the Fair went firstly to a local refuge and then to other ZCBB service projects and a donation to the Zonta International Foundation.
ZCBB has run an annual charity golf day at Calderwood Golf Club for more than 25 years. With the beautiful surroundings of Calderwood, just south of Wollongong, and easily accessible from Sydney, the day has attracted men and women golfers with skill levels somewhere on the good, the bad and the ugly spectrum. While the golf is important, the food, drink and social aspects of the day all contribute to the success of the club’s fund-raising efforts as well as raising awareness of the organisations supported by ZCBB. The pandemic meant that the hard decision to cancel the event for 2020 and 2021 had to happen. Looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces and hopefully some new ones as well in 2022.
Mark Twain (and others) may consider golf to be a good walk ruined, but for those who play the game regularly, it is the best and most frustrating game ever conceived.

In March 2021, to celebrate International Women's Day, we had an inaugural Young Women's Networking Event organized by our young professional members. This event brought in young women aged 18 to 25 years from our past YWPA entrants and members of Z clubs from Wollongong and Sydney West. The session proved to be very successful.
Because COVID-19 has created a disconnect for young women from their peers, community and school/university study environment, a Reconnecting Young Women workshop will be run in 2022.
2019 was a landmark year for Zonta International and the Zonta Club of Botany Bay. The Celebration lunch was held at the St George 16ft Sailing Club on 9th November 2019 with approximately seventy past and present Zontians, Hon Zons and invited guests attending. The first President of ZCBB, Beverley Davies OAM, was one of our guests along with representatives from organisations that ZCBB had and/or continues to assist including Platform 9, Beauty Bank, Kookaburra Kids and Moving Forward. A number of these guests spoke briefly and passionately about the work they undertake in the community to assist women and the important part that ZCBB plays in delivering this assistance. The gathering enjoyed an excellent lunch followed by a magnificent celebration cake cut by three of the original and on-going members of ZCBB–Bronlyn Schoer, Ann Selle and June Beattie. All three spoke about their experiences over the past 25 years which proved to be a highlight amongst a day of highlights. The past 25 years were celebrated in style but it is clear that no-one at ZCBB is resting upon past achievements

Over many years Zonta Botany Bay has taken the opportunity to fundraise at Bunnings BBQs at Taren Point and Kirrawee stores. These days are a good opportunity to fundraise and socialise with our fellow Zontians, Hon Zons and friends of Zonta as well as to raise community awareness of what Zonta is all about. Many thanks to our club members, Hon Zons and friends of Zonta who work to make these days a great success
